I LOVE Halloween. It’s one of my favorite times of the year. And I don’t know about you, but sometimes I get really bored with the usual decor that I see in the stores and I want to create something completely different that I haven’t seen on every shelf or on all of my neighbor’s porches.
So this happened. When I get together with my friends, we come up with some epic decor for Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead). I would love to link some similar decor for you, but we made all of it ourselves! It was very simple, and was relatively inexpensive. I started with the pumpkins, just looking at the shape. All of these are spray painted so they would look similar and the attention would be on the decor details. The gold critters used to be a multitude of colors – neon green, orange, bright blue, etc. I got them all at a dollar store and then spray painted them metallic gold and hot glued them onto the pumpkins. The skull is styrofoam spray painted white to match the pumpkins. Suzie with STATICE FLORAL then went to work on it, adorning it with the darkest and moodiest of all the flowers. She added feathers to the back to create a head dress, and the rest is magic by ANGELA ZION.
We hope you enjoy our take on this Mexican holiday decor!
