We love a good kitchen. It’s not a secret that kitchens and bathrooms are driving forces in selling a home. That’s why we do our best to make ours stand out among others on the market. In the tail end of 2017 we are starting to see a shift in the kitchen tides as far as trends, and we plan on bringing them into our flips full force in 2018! So here they are – our ‘Eight Kitchen Trends’ for 2018.
1. Lack of Hardware
The rise of Scandinavian design continues, with clean lines and minimalism. With this, comes the sleekness of cabinetry and letting storage blend into the overall cohesive look of the kitchen. Hardware is taking a backseat as this modern style brings simplistic harmony to the space.
2. Bold Backsplash
Yes, it’s time to say goodbye to the all white kitchen and push your creative limits outside of your comfort zone. The bold is here to stay.
From hand painted, to concrete, to custom mosaic, there are so many options to
find the exact look to match your style.
3. Going Dark
In 2017 we saw the entrance of darker color palettes in the kitchen,
and it’s not going anywhere. We are in love with these shades of blue, green and black for our spaces.
4. Marble Slabs
Not into the bold color? That’s okay. A clean marble slab will give you a cohesive look for your countertops and backsplash while keeping your space neutral.
5. Goodbye Granite
No more granite. No more granite. No more granite.
Need me to say it again? Bring on the concrete, the marble, the metal, and anything else but the granite.
6. Move over, Brass
Brass has had its moment over the past two years, and other metal finishes are getting jealous. So say hello to rose gold, matte black and copper making their way into the kitchen world.
7. The Fading of Stainless
Stainless steel appliances have been kicking it in kitchens since the 90’s. It’s time to switch it up with European colorful imports and vintage inspiration.
8. Butler’s Pantries
Staying in line with simplistic, the rise of butler’s pantries has returned. The desire to hide everything and keep the kitchen lines clean has these popping into floor plans for 2018.
We are so excited to create some truly unique kitchens for 2018 – including our own! Tell us about your favorite trends, and what you would like to see next! (As long as it’s not granite…)
