We’re back from spending the month of July in the Hamptons. I could go on and on with this round-up. Like that song that never ends. So let’s hit the highlights…
DRINK the Endless Summer, the Paloma, the I’ve Been Drinking.
EAT the Grilled Lobster.
GO for the sunset, live music, and fire pits on the sand.
WEAR something casual, parking can be a b***h, and you’ll have to walk. Fire pits are on the sand and heels will sink faster than your drink will go down. I also counted five barefoot patrons. Think hipster surfer mix. The best outfit I saw was a petite girl with long blonde hair that had let it dry to beach waves. Her white maxi skirt was topped with a nude tank tied up and topped with a blue jean jacket.
During the week in July it’s easier to get a reservation. Plan WAY ahead for the weekend.
DRINK the Strawberry Fields, the Carioca, the Felix Lopez.
EAT the Watermelon Wedges, the Grilled Shrimp Skewers, the Mediterranean Plate.
GO for the weekend with DJs poolside.
WEAR your swimmies.
BONUS the cute ‘We Are Poolside’ boutique with featured designers all season long.
RSVP for the best DJ weekends.
DRINK the Spritz Plains.
EAT the Trout Deviled Eggs, the Za’atar Hummus, and the KILLER Lobster Roll, voted by US as the best to go in our mouths all summer long in the Hamptons.
GO for the outdoor seating and yard games.
WEAR something casual, don’t throw off your corn hole balance.
During the week walk right in, during the weekend go WAY early or face the 1.5 hour wait in line.
DRINK the Rosé all Day pre-dinner, the Domaine Eden slightly chilled during the meal.
EAT the Tuna Susci, the Fluke Crudo, the Duck Fois Gras Ravioli and the Espresso Budino. Don’t deviate. I know my stuff on this one. And get extra Soppressata bread. You’re welcome.
GO for the beach vibe during the day, the Seawater Spa to relax, and come back at night for al fresco dining at Scarpetta Beach to watch the moon show its face.
WEAR a wedge if you brought it, this was one of the only times I threw on a heel. But this could easily go either way depending on where you sit.
Make a reservation always and request outdoor seating.
DRINK the Rosemary Citrus Spritz, the Riva, the Cucumber Frizz.
EAT the Grilled Artichoke, the Buttermilk Fried Chicken, the Yunnan Ribs, the Truffle Mac.
GO for the amazing sunset.
WEAR something casual, there’s sand involved.
During the week you’ll be able to find a spot on the beach to enjoy your meal. Weekend, reservations needed.
EAT the Heavenly Biscuits, the Scallop Salad, the Tuna Tartare, the Deviled Eggs and the Burger. Phew.
DRINK a dirty martini for me.
GO for a fabulous dinner anytime.
WEAR jeans and heels, think local steakhouse like Hall’s.
We went a little overboard on ordering, but everything was amazing. Make a reservation.
EAT the Lobster Tacos, the Chorizo Tacos, the Mexican Corn.
DRINK the Coconut Margarita.
GO while you’re shopping at some of my favorites, up next.
WEAR whatever you want. Think alley way hidden Mexican fabulousness.
If you get our friend Dave as a waiter, consider yourself lucky. He’s a CofC alum and is there during the summer with his wife who bartends. Go Cougs.
SHOP EAST HAMPTON…
Intermix, for your must-haves trending now.
Ralph Lauren, the most beautiful entrance to a store. Like, ever.
Les Toiles Du Soleil, for colorful striped handmade toiletry bags from France.
Club Monaco, for your summer whites.
Blue & Cream, for the newest Nike high tops, special edition.
What Goes Around Comes Around, for that vintage Chanel bag you’ve had your eye on.
BookHampton, for a killer coffee table book souvenir.
Orlebar Brown, to get your man looking right under the cabana.
The menu changes constantly, so here are my favorites for summer.
EAT the Escargot, the Steak Frites, and the Mussels.
DRINK the California Kid.
GO during the week for an outdoor sidewalk, very French meets the Hamptons experience.
WEAR something light for al fresco dining.
My favorite place to hang and watch the surfers take on the extra cold water. You’ll need a parking pass if you’re driving, so take a taxi or rent a bike at Air and Speed Montauk.
Pure magic. Walk down to the rocky beach and take it all in.
The cutest and quaintest town in the Hamptons. Go shop and eat at the open air bistros. Stop by Tate’s Bake Shop for the real thing – the best chocolate chip cookie around.
