Anne and I met on a bachelorette party in 2011. You know when you’re on one of those and you zero in on one girl and say – ‘you’re my friend this weekend. I pick you.’ Well our friendship lasted way further than Nelly karaoke.
Why she’s my best friend:
Brutal honesty – Don’t lie to me and say this outfit looks good. Never a problem with Annie.
Loyal – I can say that the sky is pink and she will stand right next to me and agree.
Moe’s – I went on this streak where I ate Moe’s every Monday and it was a bit disturbing. Anne sat on the couch and ate queso covered burritos along with me.
Two years ago when I moved home, I was in Greenville for all of five minutes when Anne called me and said, “what are you doing? It’s summer. Get down here.” Off I went and lived with Anne for three months while I started over and bought the magazine.
I needed that time with my best friend, and I was so thankful to have had it before she took a huge leap and moved to Buenos Aires for a year and a half. I had never been so proud of her than I was at that moment – doing something scary as ever, but knowing she was doing it for herself and no one else. I still went down and stayed with my second momma in Charleston, but boy does it feel good to have this one back in the U. S. of A. And I’ve never seen her more happy. I love you Annie – Happy Birthday to my bestie.
Cheers to the weekend, and my best friend!
