We had another wonderful but quick trip to Miami right before we left for Haiti! Thanks so much to our friends at The Betsy Hotel for hosting us.
We love The Betsy for many reasons, a big one being that they are family owned and dog friendly! Resident dogs Katie and Betsy are usually hanging out in the lobby and are all about the snuggles. The majority of the pet fee also goes to charity, and you know how we love that!
The Betsy just added on a huge addition to the hotel, which is where we stayed. The ‘Art Deco’ wing is just that – full of funky art, bookshelves, and side sitting areas and game rooms as well as a rooftop pool with incredible views. Our suite was wonderfully large with a marble bathroom from top to bottom and a wrap around balcony. Breakfast is always the bomb and afternoon drinks and truffle fries were our choice for the few days!
The Betsy also has the cutest lifeguard stands on the beach out in front of the hotel. Perfect Instagrammable photo op, along with the big egg in the alley that connects the new wing of the hotel! There’s also the pool in the courtyard that is so chic! Every corner has a hidden little spot, that’s why I love it!
We were able to try out a few new places during our stay, including Juvia (thanks for the recommendation, Brooke!). Juvia is a French-Japanese fusion restaurant on a rooftop overlooking South Beach. It has a great vibe, and we loved sitting outside, the weather was perfect! The cocktails were amazing (I had the Elderflower Mule, Ron had the Bourbon Jockey), and the food was incredible. When we’re trying somewhere new, we do our best to go off of the server’s recommendations and he was SPOT on. Spicy tuna crispy rice, Scottish salmon nashi, and the Wagyu short rib gyoza. Holy moly yum.
We also ate at Cecconi’s – an Italian restaurant inside of Soho Beach House. We went with the recommended agnolotti del plin with truffle, and the spaghetti with Maine lobster. Another amazing meal, and the restaurant was voted this year as one of the most romantic restaurants in the world by Architectural Digest. We’re excited to try another one of the restaurants on that list this week!
Thanks again to The Betsy for having us, and letting me get a little work done in the Writer’s Room! We can’t wait to come back soon.
