When my friend Jenny sent me a text and said “Hey, wanna take a trip?” I was down. I’m always ready for a vacation. I said yes before I knew where we were going. Then she said, “Okay great, we’re going to Meadows of Dan, Virginia.” Hmm. Okay.
So 3.5 hours outside of Greenville I arrive with my three girls, @loverlygrey, @bohostylefile, and @atgreenwell at the gate of a 1200 acre property – PRIMLAND RESORT. We stopped twice on the way up the mountain just to gawk at the gorgeous views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The small overlooks were nothing compared to the floor to ceiling windows in the lodge, flanked with welcoming fireplaces.
To say that I was impressed with this property is a complete understatement. The rooms had a luxury cabin feel and one of the largest bathtubs I have ever seen. The beds you could sink in and stay forever. We had views out to the golf course, with mountains for days. We wandered our floor to find a movie theatre and an observatory – complete with a staff member ready to give you a tour of the night’s sky.
Our rooms were in the lodge but that was only one option for accommodations. There was also the newly added rooms in the Pinnacle building, as well as treehouses complete with the most incredible views on property. If you are visiting for a romantic getaway, I absolutely recommend one of these!
We didn’t wander for long – the staff had a full itinerary for us with archery, ATV tours, mediation, and a relaxing massage at the Native American themed spa. We have already planned our activities for the next trip (and there will be a next trip) because there was so much available. Kayaking and horseback riding are on our list.
If the views weren’t enough, the food was outstanding. We dined in the pub as well as the Elements restaurant at the chef’s table. From truffle ravioli to scallops to Wagyu beef, there was no shortage of fine dining.
But on to my absolute favorite part of it all – the staff. I have never felt more welcomed or more at home with a group of people. The bartenders, hostesses, servers, and valets all knew us by name upon arrival. The sommelier greeted me and related a wine pairing to where my family is from in France. The man had read. My blog. Karl, if I wasn’t impressed already, your wine pairings put me over the edge. I found new obsessions and even shocked our local wine distributor when I asked to place an order. Stenson, you were our new best friend when we left. You kept us laughing through dinner and we truly appreciate your kindness. Julie, thank you so much for making sure we were comfortable throughout the weekend. It truly was one of the best trips we have taken, and we can’t wait to see you again soon.
Thank you to JAGUAR LAND ROVER ASHEVILLE for the Range Rover Sport we drove up to Primland! I had so much fun driving this car, and can’t wait to make the switch back to Land Rover very soon!
KIP SLEEPWEAR also kept us cozy in their Egyptian cotton night shirts. These are made in North America and can be personalized with your monogram. (Currently in mine as I write this!) I’m wearing the WHITE JAQUARD NIGHTSHIRT in white with the stylish style monogram in blue.
BARRINGTON GIFTS sent over their spring line bags and this grey chambray is a great compliment to my travel luggage! I loved the color combo I created in person. I have the ST. ANNE TOTE and the COSMETIC KIT.
Thanks to my girls for going on this adventure, I could not have had more fun with you! Cheers to the next!
