Two years ago I took a gargantuan leap of faith – I purchased a magazine franchise and moved home to Greenville after eight years of absence. What followed was amazing relationships, creative challenges, and the two volumes of The Scout Guide Greenville.
Working through over 120 photo shoots was a dream. Art direction was undoubtedly my strength and favorite part of owning TSG. Collaborating with my clients and getting Greenville out of its own comfort zone makes my heart beat fast. Thank you to all of those that believed in my vision over the past two years. A special thank you to Jeni Kleckley, owner of Monkee’s of the West End. You were my very first client and you trusted me without hesitation. I will never forget that moment in my career.
I also could have never done any of this without the love and support of my husband and number one fan. Thank you for putting up with 6am call times, book deliveries, hearing my elevator speech five thousand times, and randomly finding a makeup artist in our living room. Life with you makes everything better.
So what now? The big question. Well, if you’ve been paying attention, my body doesn’t like to listen. I literally cannot get it to do what I want and it’s been a struggle and a frustration for a while. Aleviating any stress that I could was a decision that had to be made for my family, even though selling TSG was like giving up my first born.
But I know that my baby is in good hands with Keaton Stroud. Keaton worked for numerous publications in NYC before moving back down south and ultimately landing the job she was meant for – EIC, Scout Guide Greenville. Love you Keats, make me proud.
Follow along, there’s exciting things ahead.
